Major Residential Projects Planned

I received an update recently from Ticor Title mentioning these planned projects:
  • Ventura - Harbor: 300 upscale apartments, a marina and 20,000 square feet of retail space
  • Oxnard - River Park: 2800 dwellings, a convention center, retail space, and a 600 room hotel
  • Santa Paula - Adams Canyon: Up to 400 multimillion dollar estates

All well and good~~for the upscale
individuals. What is to happen to
the "common" people who perform all
the services in the area and who
cannot afford all these high-priced
homes? Where are the lovely,
attractive low-priced homes????

I agree, it's really hard for those just starting out and for those in the service industry. I think we have to look at it as a process. We all have to start out somewhere. Most are not able to buy the home they want to stay in the first time around. Buying a small home, or condo seems to be the first step. In addition, lenders are making the step in to homeownership more and more attractive everyday. Most don't want to retire with an interest only loan. However, it makes getting into the real estate market a little easier to swallow. Working with a real estate professional may make home ownership a little easier to bite off.
