Making a Move!

Every day I help residents of Ventura County, and future residents of Ventura County find a home tha suits their needs. Well, this time it's me making the move. My former compoany, Realty Executives Coastal Cities, has decided to call it quits in Ventura. There are a few reasons this has come to pass, one of which is that the owner has fallen ill and needs to concentrate on his health. It's been a tough past few years, and many companies are skating on thin ice right now.
Ok, now for the good news. I've decided to go with a start up boutique agency, Ventura Property Shoppe. I love being there from the start and taking part in the decisions that will shape this vision of a small, upscale, real estate office in Ventura. Many of my fellow agents at Realty Executives have decided to become part of this new office. Having those famaliar faces will definitely be a comfort.
We've found our new home at 973 Main Street in Ventura, just a block or two from vibrant downtown Ventura. I hope you'll stop by and say hi soon!

Probably Worth Repeating

"The ache for home lives in all of us, the safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned."-Maya Angelou

There's so much media coverage on the collapsing housing market, it's hard to avoid feeling a bit of angst over a possible purchase. However, it's important to remember the real reasons that we buy home. Changes in our family status like marriage, the birth of a new baby, divorce, and death are all cause for buying or selling a home. Also, things like a promotion, or job transfer can also trigger the sale or purchase of a new home. It's tough to time these changes, and it's likely that alot of individuals find themselves wanting or needing to buy or sell during down times in the real estate market. The purchase of real estate is not always spurred on by a need to invest and make money. We have emotional needs to provide a safe place for our families, a place to build memories, a place to call home.

Property Taxes Due!

Don't forget that the second installment of Property Taxes are due by April 10!
Although there is nothing you can do now but pay the taxes that are due, do not forget that under the provisions of Proposition 8 you may request a review of the value of your property. So check the value that you are paying taxes on and if you feel the value of your property is currently less than the Assessor has placed on it, contact the Assessor and request a review under Prop 8. It may just save you some money next tax season!
